Today Is Brought to You By The Color Green

I've developed a sudden obsession with green. Maybe because it's spring?

So much so that when Reagan went down for a nap yesterday I was frantic (frantic, I tell you) to increase the green quotient in my life. I scoured my closet - no green. The best I could do was a black skirt and boat-neck shirt (a favorite) with a green ribbon in my hair. But I did find green eyeshadow (can you believe the lengths I've gone to?).

And while I was in the bathroom... I added a green basket (purchased on Super Clearance for $4.00 that morning), tied a rich green ribbon around the towel on display and a pretty bird ribbon around the (already green) soap dispenser. I tied another ribbon around the white antique candlestick (but I have yet to leave the house specifically in search for a green candle... but it's on the list). I also contemplated re-doing the valance (I think I have some green fabric in my stash that would be perfect) and some kind of green treatment for the shower curtain (yet to be determined).

Not to be left out, on the bedroom next where I stripped the bed of our pretty cream sheets and added instead the green ones (lucky for me that of our two sheet sets, one is green). I pulled out the green/brown quilt I made last year (this was the best green I could do, though to be honest I wish it were a bit lighter/spring-ier; maybe I'll add that to my to-do list next. Tami - anything up your sleeve that might work?). I added green pillowcases and pulled those lovely couch pillows I made a few weeks back and love so much from the living room. Ahhhh... better. But not enough. Inspired by this idea, I found a frame, picked off the vinyl quote already on it and applied a nice bold B (in vinyl, because, let's be honest, that's what I do). And, because I love ribbon and can't get enough of the green, I added a pretty ribbon (incidentally, this is the same ribbon adorning the soap in the bathroom).

pretty, isn't it?

And because I couldn't quite decide on which monogram to do, I made two and applied the extra one to the back door. When Jordan came home he literally had an almost-Easter treasure hunt of green surprises to greet him.

But I'm not done yet. Not by a long shot. Green, green, green, green. Bring it on, I say.

  1. Spring is in the air--even if it's a rainy day today, I still feel it! Green is refreshing and young, and I love the things you've done to up the green quotient in your home!
